Allyson Felix
Allyson Nicole Felix was born November 18 of 1985 in Los Angeles. Paul Felix served as an ordained minister at Sun Valley at Master's Seminary. Marlean Felix taught at Balboa Magnet. Felix's ability to compete in athletics was evident from the moment she started attending Los Angeles Baptist High School. Only 10 weeks after her first tryout she came third in the 200 meter event during the U.S. Indoor Track and Field Championship. Felix finished her high school year in 2003 and became a part of Adidas an agreement as an athlete in professional competition. In the following year, she enrolled at the University of Southern California studying elementary education. Felix's first Olympic medal came at the 2004 Summer Olympics held in Athens Greece. Felix set a world junior record for the 200m race in 22.18 secs. The 2005 Helsinki World Championships saw her become the youngest woman to win the 200 meter race. She defended this title and beat her Jamaican competitor Veronica Campbell. Felix was consistently within the top three in her various events during the Olympics that took place in Beijing London Rio de Janeiro Tokyo.
